Arm Lift
Firm arms free of sagging — a permanent result that exercise cannot achieve
What is an arm lift and who needs it?
Loose, sagging skin hanging from the inner arm — the so-called "bat wings" — is one of the most embarrassing areas for people who have lost a lot of weight, grown older, or seen their arm shape change after pregnancy. No exercise can re-tighten excess skin — the only definitive solution is surgical.
An arm lift (Brachioplasty) removes the excess skin and fat from the inner arm, from the armpit to the elbow — giving a defined, firm arm suited to summer clothing and everyday elegance.

Full arm lift (Traditional)
An incision from the armpit to the elbow on the inner side — for severe sagging. It gives the best tightening result but the scar is longer. Especially suited to those who have lost a great deal of weight.
Mini arm lift
A limited incision in the armpit only — for mild to moderate sagging. The scar sits in a hidden area. Suited to those with a limited amount of excess skin.
Arm liposuction
For those with fat but no skin sagging — it improves the contours without lift surgery. Sometimes combined with the lift for a complete result.
Lift within a Mommy Makeover
An arm lift can be combined with post-pregnancy or post-weight-loss procedures in a single session for a shared recovery.
Who benefits most?
✅ Ideal if:
- Your weight has been stable for at least 6 months (especially after weight loss)
- The inner-arm skin is loose and hangs when you raise your hand or wave
- You avoid sleeveless clothing because of the shape of your arm
- Exercise has not improved the arm's shape despite the weight coming down
⚠️ Wait before deciding if:
- Your weight is still changing — stabilise first
- The problem is fat only, without skin sagging — liposuction is enough
- You are worried about the scar — discuss scar expectations with the doctor before deciding
Recovery path
A small drainage tube is placed and removed within 24-48 hours. The arm is wrapped in an elastic compression garment worn for two weeks.
The arm rests. It cannot be relied on for tasks that require lifting. Sleeping in a semi-seated position is more comfortable.
Office work is possible after 7-10 days. No sport and no heavy lifting yet.
Swimming and light exercise are possible. Weightlifting starts after a full 6 weeks.
The scar turns from pink to a light white over 6-12 months. The arm is in its stable, final shape.
