Three procedures — three different problems
🔺 Breast Augmentation
Adds volume — via a silicone implant or fat transfer. For women who feel the breast is smaller than they want or who lost volume after breastfeeding. Read the details
⬆️ Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Restores shape and position — without a major change in volume. For women dealing with breast sagging or descent after pregnancy or weight loss.
🔻 Breast Reduction
Removes excess volume — to relieve pain, back and neck aches, and discomfort. For women whose breasts are larger than suits their body.
🔄 The Combination (Augmentation + Lift)
A lift is often combined with augmentation — especially after breastfeeding: the breast is lifted and repositioned, and an implant is added to replace the lost volume.
How do you know which procedure you need?
The simple test used in clinical consultations:
The breast is small — volume is the main problem
Breast augmentation with an implant or fat transfer. If there is no sagging, this alone is enough.
The breast is sagging and the nipple points downward — volume is acceptable
A breast lift alone — the goal is repositioning, not changing the volume.
The breast is sagging and lost its volume after breastfeeding
Lift + augmentation together — the most common combination after the breastfeeding period. You lift the breast and restore the lost volume.
The breast is very large and causes back and neck pain
Breast reduction — reduces the volume, restores proportion and relieves the pain. Often combined with a lift in the same session.
The silicone implant — what do you know about it?
Many women's fear of silicone implants is based on outdated information. Here is the current reality:
- The modern "Cohesive Gel" generation: modern silicone is a cohesive gel — it does not leak even if the shell cracks. Radically different from the old implants.
- Safety is documented: millions of women around the world have carried implants for decades. Major studies confirm their safety.
- Lifespan: modern implants mostly last 15-20 years — not a lifetime, but not "every two years" as is commonly said.
- MRI and breast implants: an MRI scan every 5-6 years is recommended to check — not because there is a problem, but as a precaution.
Recovery time for each procedure
When is breast surgery not the right choice right now?
- If you are breastfeeding or finished less than 3 months ago
- If you are planning a pregnancy soon — pregnancy may change the result
- If your weight is fluctuating — stabilize first
- If the motive is external pressure rather than personal desire — the decision must be your own
"The hardest case in breast consultations is not the medical one — it is the woman who comes to please her partner rather than herself. The surgery is for you, and only then will you be happy with the result." — Dr. Ahmad Dawood
